Peace

I am at loss of what to say.

I’ve found a peace I thought

Would always be at bay.

My heart I thought was

Ever broken, shattered and

Destroyed yet somehow

Mended stronger than before.

I’ve found a strength

I never knew I had.

An outer core of pure resolve

Around an inner core of steel.

And yes time has given me

A quiet acceptance of the past

A gratefulness of this moment

A stillness in my soul.

I am at loss of what to say.

Sitting by the river

Watching the water flow.

Hearing the ducks

Settling in for the night.

Seeing the green leaves

Turning slightly yellow.

Smelling the fall

On the air tonight.

Feeling summer

Quietly fading away.

I am glad

I believe the

Soul exists beyond

This physical world.

I take comfort

In knowing our

Children’s dad is

Still watching them.

Each milestone that

Passes is seen

From above and

He is smiling.
