Tis the middle of the night
No movement here in sight
No sounds around to hear
The silence soft, nothing left to fear.
I’m wandering through the house
Again as quiet as a mouse
And come to stand before the window
Basking in the moon’s full glow.
And bathed in moonlight
I feel at peace and take delight
In simple things now held dear
And in the silence I finally cheer.
I cheer the life I had
I cheer the life I have
I left the darkness as I ought
And finally found the peace I sought.
